General themes at themes/theme dir?

Reported by Priit Tamboom | October 31st, 2008 @ 10:16 AM

Correct me, but at the moment each site has themes/site-1/theme dir, however should we also implement support to "general themes" what located at themes/theme dir.

So in UI under themes user can pick up 'general themes' along with 'site themes'.

What do you think?

By a general theme you mean some themes that adva-cms would be shipped with?

Do we want to have these general themes? Who will upkeep these themes when something will change?

I think it would nice to have a very simple example theme that shows a noobie user how theme can be build.

A general default theme would be a great step forward. Users could use it as a base for their own themes. From the sites directory I ususally only do symlinks to my general theme (at least in mephisto I still do so).

About keeping it up-to-date: How about an option to copy the existing default views when creating a new theme? Not all, just a few to give the user an idea. And only for sections he really uses. Easiest and fastest in my eyes.
