sub-nav ui: active tab?

Reported by Priit Tamboom | January 7th, 2009 @ 02:31 PM

I think we should create active tab for sub-nav as well. I can create css myself but just to be sure, perhaps I should delegate it to supermario instead?

Use case: At newsletter I have "issues", "subscribers" and it would be handy to show current tab.

I pushed up, if you need to see tabs itself.

supermario: so, cool, if you like to do it, just do it.

ok, I'll make active css for it.

Sven: Text links (sidebar) instead of horizontal submenu (issues, subscribers)

I removed hor menu and added active tab indicator to sidebar li elements.

I have pushed this horizontal menu stuff because I just get lost without indication and don't know where I am currently. We need somekind global indication for adva to let user easily understand where he/she is in adva. At the moment I added active tab indication to sidebar list (newletter only at the moment), however it's not enough and location still confuses me a lot.

Any ideas how we can improve it or what should be the way?

My suggestion: lets make content div same color as active tab in the sidebar list. So it would be like tabs, but facing to the right sidebar. What doy you think?

    Hey Priit,

I agree, we must improve this in some way or the other. I'm having my issues with the current backend design anyway :)

Your suggestion sounds reasonable. Maybe you could implement that in some branch for a few actions so we all could have a look at it?

I assume this is resolved with the new backend layout?
