Should we use Rails 2.3 templates
Reported by Priit Tamboom | February 2nd, 2009 @ 08:36 AM
Just gathering pros and cons weather adva should start using upcoming rails 2.3 template feature instead of our own setup.
Pros:
-
adva becomes more transparent/lightweight for newcomers
-
plugins can be shared and manage more standard place (vendor/plugins instead adva/plugins)
Cons:
- not everyone using 2.3 yet (including adva)

Sure, totally agree. The one thing we need before using templates
actually makes sense is decoupling the engines (especially the admin
backend) so the whole thing does not crash on the floor when, e.g. the
newsletter engine is missing etc.Already tried starting adva-cms on Rails 2.3? I guess Engines will
clash? -
