unknown system platform: DragonflyBSD

I am on DragonFlyBSD and would like to install the software to give it a try. However, I get the above error. Running with traceback revealed that Rake.application.unix? conditional (disclaimer: I do not know Ruby) is actually false. What makes this true, where does this obtain the system type from, and is there a way to fix it? :-)
