
newlines in forum posts

in the forum, newlines are not preserved in the posts. for instance, if i say:
line 1
line 2
it displays as:
line 1 line 2
(update: line 2 should be on a new line.)

Thanks for the headsup, Tom.
The Forum engine is still in a pretty flaky condition as it's not part of our first minimum requirement (which is: cms, blog, wiki).
Since the forum reuses the Comment model which can be configured to be filtered through Blue/RedCloth etc. filters (see the admin backend for site or blog settings, you can configure the comment filter) ... I suspect that you could try to set this filter for your site or forum.
Not sure if we want to keep this config option for forums. Would that make sense at all? At least we certainly want a more sane default setting here.
